About the tour
A day of quiet back roads, where farmland soon replaces the city and the traffic thins. The mountains gradually draw closer, then the wine valleys take over, with their estates and oak-lined streets. The riding, the scenery and the moments you share set the pace of the day, and Mathis photographs them along the way.

Start and finish: Cape Town
- MORNING
Country roads to Philadelphia
We leave Cape Town on country roads to Philadelphia, then continue to Spice Route for a first stop overlooking the Winelands.
- MIDDAY
The Franschhoek valley
We ride into the Franschhoek valley, surrounded by mountains, for a lunch break.
- AFTERNOON
Stellenbosch
The road crosses Helshoogte Pass to Stellenbosch. The day ends with the return to central Cape Town.
